Oxygen probe

Short Description:

The oxygen probe is primarily utilized in workstations such as BOF, steel ladle after BOF,  argon blowing stations, LF, and tundish for temperature, oxygen, carbon, or aluminum content measurement and control. It can accurately and rapidly determine the temperature and active oxygen content in molten steel, playing a crucial role in the steel smelting process and product quality control.

The oxygen probe is composed of a solid oxide reference cell, for oxygen activity measurement and a PtRh/Pt thermocouple, for temperature measurement.

These are assembled within a conical sand body, and protected by both steel and cardboard slag caps.

To complete the oxygen probe the sensor is attached to an expendable cardboard tube.
